Disability
Every person with a disability deserves an equal opportunity to participate in our society. I have a four-part plan for helping Americans with disabilities and reducing challenges in their everyday lives. First, it is essential to ensure that children with special needs have access to the appropriate education. Secondly, America must begin breaking down barriers for people with disabilities in the workplace and public spaces. Third, health insurance coverage for mental health must be on par with coverage for physical health. Finally, we must prioritize funding for ethical research to find better treatments and cures for disabilities ranging from autism to Parkinson’s disease. As Congressman, I will continue to work on behalf of those with disabilities to reduce barriers and discrimination and to increase opportunities in our society.
